Plant Stands Are They Necessary

Plant stands are not always necessary to have but are much better for the overall space and health of the plant. If you have a large plant, then it may be best to located it in a pot on the floor rather than putting it on a stand. There are many advantages to having stands and I have listed some.

  • Insects with the plant being in the lowest position they seem to attract spider mites, ants, and others very easily.
  • If your indoor space is small using a stand will accommodate more plants.
  • Stands add charm and elegance to a space and generally works well with your décor. You can always blend the stands with your choice of furniture, so it flows well in the space.
  • Placing the plants on the stands sends a reminder to you to remember to water them. When they are low on the ground you may forget them. It also helps with the flow of sunlight or lack thereof.
  • Projects are great to do especially on the weekends and creating your own plant stand by using unwanted furniture and refreshing them with paint can work and there is no additional cost to you.
  • Stands allow you to transport the plants easily to outdoors for sunlight, pollination of insects and the ability to shower them with water which can get rid of any unwanted critters that could be lurking on them.
  • Plants are involved with the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Stands allow this exchange to function better in the environment.

Stands can be created from anything and does not have to be a financial burden to anyone. There are sometimes very useful items that are no longer in use in your home which will make a good stand and with the right paint and you will realize that it is transformational in the space.
