Household Products That Are Good for Plants

It is natural for us when we encounter a problem the best solution is always to go to the store to find a product that can fix it. Have you ever considered that there are products in your cupboard that will be a much healthier choice rather than using a chemical compound. It is my recommendation that before you rush out and buy a quick fix to the problem check your cupboard first.

  • Cinnamon This spice has may uses from the flavouring of foods to making essential oils to various teas. Besides these wonderful properties. It can be used as an antifungal by sprinkling it directly on the affected area or adding it directly as a growth hormone or to a spray bottle and using it.
  • Cloves Used as a spice for preservatives, cakes and even beauty it is also good for plant fungus and to deter mosquitoes. Grind and pour into a spray bottle and spray on the affected plant.
  • Baking Soda Although it has been shown to help with some plants adding a mild detergent with it as a spray seems to work best.
  • Epsom Salts This takes us back in history to our grandparents who used this for health reasons, but it is also a fertilizer for plants that are deficient in magnesium improving the cell structure and overall well-being of the plant.
  • Composing scrap food this produces a rich soil for the plant to grow.
  • Garlic A pungent odor it keeps your pests like Mosquitoes, flies, and rodents away
  • Oregano is a natural repellant.
  • Rosemary Planting this herb in your garden will keep those slugs out.
  • Egg Shells These are filled with calcium a nutrient that the plant needs.

If these items suggested have not solved some of the problems that you are facing, then you just may have to do the unthinkable which would be to find what  product can be used that is effective. Saving the environment, a little at a time helps for the next generation to enjoy it.
